Moving in Time

Rhythm and Flow in Contact Improvisation

with Richard Parker

Discover how rhythm can shape your dance. Through playful exploration of timing, tempo, and flow, this workshop invites participants to find their personal rhythm and learn how it influences connection with others.

Together, we’ll discover how rhythm can open new pathways in our dances, from fluid, continuous flows to sharp, dynamic changes in speed and intensity. Rhythm creates structure, but it also invites spontaneity and unpredictability adding excitement and curiosity to our dances.

From building trust through shared rhythm to experimenting with irregular tempos, we will uncover how rhythm brings depth, creativity, and spontaneity into Contact Improvisation.

Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a curious beginner, this workshop is for you. You'll have the opportunity to learn from an experienced teacher, connect with like-minded individuals, and most importantly, have an amazing dance.
