The Art of Counterbalance
with Richard Parker
Unlock the power of counterbalance in this engaging workshop, where we’ll dive into the art of falling, sharing weight, and maintaining a dynamic sense of balance with a partner. Through guided exercises and playful explorations, you’ll gain a deeper awareness of your body in space and refine your ability to move in harmony with one another.
Learn to trust, respond, and adapt as we develop our skills in finding and sustaining a shared centre—embracing the thrill of being in flow together, when in motion. Whether new to Contact Improvisation or looking to expand your learning, this workshop will help you build confidence in navigating this dance of balance, momentum, and connection.
We are also thrilled that Bela Emerson is joining us with her beautiful Cello, she will play for us during the Jam in the afternoon. Bela is an innovative musician who uses the cello to support people’s well-being and to create responsive sounds and textures to inspire and support movement.
